Sadly, we just happen to be included in the endangered species list. There are less than 2,000 of us left alive. This is due to many reasons. Most of these reasons are from you humans. There are already some limiting factors we have to live with. Some of the density dependent limiting factors, or the limiting factors that affect us more at a certain population density, are fish and other food sources, predators like sharks, seals, and sea lions, and land and ocean area for us to live and hunt in. Some density independent limiting factors, or limiting factors that will affect us the same no matter what our population density is, are water, land, and air temperature and any storm or other natural disaster that happens.
We were fine with this stuff, but humans have done things like introduce rats, dogs, and cats that have become predators. Plus, dogs can spread diseases among us that we aren't used to. Also, some of us have been hurt and even killed by pollution left on land and in the water, bycatch from fishermen, and even climate change caused by humans. One of the main reasons that we are on the endangered species list is human interference.
We do plan to get of the feared list though. We have slowly been adapting, but we do not adapt to well to sudden changes in our environment. The only way we can get off of the endangered species list is to decrease our death rates, or maybe increase or birth rates, but that isn't exactly the most effective solution for this situation. We are accepting donations on this website to fund research and efforts to get us off this list. Just go to the homepage and click on the "Comments and Donations" button at the top. There are ways that you normal people can help us as well. First of all, if you have an animal or pet, don't release it in our habitat if it isn't supposed to be there. People did that before, and it really has hurt us. Second, please clean any pollution or litter on land or in the water if you can because it might find its way to our area or some other animal's habitat. Also, don't litter or pollute yourself. It is illegal and bad for the environment.

Some Research done on us:
- Research about how an increase of sea surface temperature of 7 degrees has hurt many small species, which in turn has hurt our food sources and us. It is by Matthias Wolff, Diego J. Ruiz, and Marc Taylor. http://www.int-res.com/abstracts/meps/v448/p7-22/
